How many tiny serum bottles do you need on your shelf to call yourself a product junkie? Does 15 count?
I have been on hunt to find a cohesive skincare regimen that actually works for a while.
I buy A LOT of individual, one-off products. Many of them are fantastic but they don’t always work well together. I love trying the latest serum or a cult-favorite moisturizer (usually when it comes in my IPSY box each month).
After trying Rodan and Fields a few years ago, I learned about the benefits of using products that are designed to be used together. I really liked the Rodan and Fields system I was using but it ended up being too harsh for my skin.
Is Dime Beauty Legit?

When I decided to get serious about simplifying my morning and evening skincare routine, I looked into the brand a little bit more. This was easy because once I did an initial google search I got social media ads continuously 😛 Before I share my experience with the individual products, what I ordered, what I love, what I don’t, let’s take a look at Dime Beauty as a company.
History of Dime Beauty
Ashley and Tyler Griffin are the co-founders of Dime Beauty. They married Ashley’s skincare expertise as a licensed esthetician and Tyler’s experience in e-commerce and digital marketing, to launch their own skincare line.
They started Dime in 2018 with the launch of their first product, the Dime Beauty Hyaluronic Acid Serum. This serum quickly gained popularity and positive reviews from beauty enthusiasts. Encouraged by their initial success, Ashley and Tyler expanded their product line, focusing on creating affordable yet effective skincare solutions. They now have over 50 products and continue to expand.
A clean beauty company
The brand gained recognition for its commitment to using clean ingredients and science-backed formulations. The brand actively seeks ways to minimize its environmental impact, from using recyclable packaging materials to sourcing sustainable ingredients. Dime Beauty also avoids harmful ingredients like sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and artificial fragrances. I also found it interesting that they don’t use any essential oils in their products.
Dime Beauty claims to offer products that deliver visible results without breaking the bank. I wanted to test how these products actually worked for my skin. Are they worth the hype?
Dime beauty review: My experience with Dime Beauty
After seeing these products around the internet for over a year, I finally committed to placing an order (with my own money).
Determining which products to buy
The hardest thing about shopping Dime Beauty products is NOT getting overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices. There are a lot of options and it is hard to know where to start.
I started with their Skincare Quiz which asked me a few questions about skin types and goals. I could choose from oily skin, dry skin, sensitive or combination skin. I scrolled through the recommendations and then browsed the site on my own for a bit.
I ordered “The Ultimate” bundle (I paid $217) along with the Wonderscreen. The Ultimate bundle includes Dime’s best-selling serums, a cleanser, toner, and day and night moisturizer. It also includes the mascara and the Dime eyelash boost serum.
A friend asked about Dime perfumes on our girls trip to Scottsdale last month so I also added the perfume sampler to my order. I got free shipping because my order was over $65 and my order arrived 4 days later.
What I was using before I ordered Dime products:
I replaced my hodgepodge skincare system that was pieced together from a lot of IPSY orders. Here’s what I was using at the time:

How I use my Dime products
To keep myself accountable I committed to three products each morning and three products each night. I try and let each product absorb into the skin for 30-60 seconds before applying another one. Here is how I’m using my products:

Gentle Jelly cleanser (one of my favorite products!)
Hylauronic acid serum (Dime’s first product and, if I could only have one, this would be it)
Restorative Night Cream (a solid moisturizer, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about)

Does Dime Beauty really work? What I noticed after using the products
After using the products for the last two months I am happy with the full Dime Beauty regimen. I LOVE the way my skin feels using Dime products and the overall experience of using them (a skincare routine I generally look forward to).
What I love about Dime Beauty:
The Jelly Cleanser: I love that this jelly cleanser foams up during use and is so effective. It also smells great. It is gentle enough I could use it morning and night but I just wash my face in the evening.
The serums: I understand the hype behind the hylauronic acid serum now. A lot of serums I’ve tried struggle to get the right consistency. These ones (both the hylauronic acid and the hyper glow vitamin c serum) are viscous enough to easily spread/rub in over my whole face without being TOO runny. They’re light weight, absorb quickly, and aren’t oily. They are still VERY moisturizing and layer well under my makeup.
The packaging: I was looking for a cohesive skincare system for my SKIN but LOVE how this also gives me a cohesive look in my bathroom. The packaging is high end (glass over plastic for sustainability) and so pretty.
You can put your skincare products on subscription (but you don’t have to!). I signed up for Dime text messages and they text every week with some kind of deal. One of them is a discount for putting my skincare on subscription. I am waiting to see how long each of my products last before I do this but think it would be useful.
Relatively clean skincare: This ISN’T a deal breaker for me when it comes to beauty products but, the more I read about it, the more convinced I am that this is the way to go.
What I don’t love about Dime Beauty:
The super skin toner is too harsh for my sensitive skin. I only used it a handful of times before I was reading up on rosacea (redness of the skin). The article said to avoid all toners. I was a little frustrated that my skin quiz on Dime’s site gave me the results for “sensitive skin” and the toner was still included in my recommended products. I’m going to try using it once a week and see how my skin tolerates it but if you have sensitive skin, I would skip the toner altogether.
The daytime moisturizer doesn’t have any SPF in it. This means you do need to layer on a sunscreen. I understand it’s more effective to use a moisturizer and a sunscreen separately but I appreciate getting SPF coverage in my moisturizer if I never get around to a sunscreen or makeup.
I would love the option for an oil cleanser. I’ve had great experiences using oil cleansers over the last five years and they’re very hydrating for my skin. I’m hoping Dime introduces one of them soon. I would use an oil cleanser in the morning (where I don’t use any cleanser at the moment). I also like using an oil cleanser as a double cleanse when washing off a full face of makeup.
Will I order from Dime again?
Yes! I’ve already placed my order for a full bottle of perfume to use after trying out the sampler. I’ll write a full Dime Beauty perfume review here soon but the short answer is, I’m obsessed.
Next products I want to try:
Tinted Wonderscreen: I’m a fan of the Wonderscreen and love the idea of replacing my bb cream with a tinted sunscreen for the summer (currently I use and love the bare rescue from Bare Minerals).
Blue Facial Oil: This is supposed to be great for blemishes and redness.
TBT (antiaging) Serum: My favorite things from Dime have been their serums so this sounds fantastic.
Should you order from Dime?
If you’re looking for great products at an affordable price point (in comparison to high end, high quality skincare brands), then yes. If you’re just getting started I recommended picking one of their bundles to get the best value. “The Works” get’s you most of their staples is the most popular starter set.
